The unit contains material for acquiring phonetic reading in a meaningful way,
as well as activities for the development of writing and verbal skills.
The study of phonetic reading is done in alphabetical order,
except for the letter "Shin" which is introduced after the letter "Aleph".
As a continuation to the phonetic teaching of the letters,
the material accommodates the development of reading comprehension through:
identification of a letter using wordings, reading of happening stories,
exercises of reading comprehension and exercises of phonetic reading Teaching the
reading and writing of capital letters is accomplished in four workbooks:
Ariot 1:
The letters Aleph to He, Shin and the vowels Patach, Kamatz,
Sh'va and Chirik (full and lacking).
Ariot 2:
The letters Vav to Yod and the vowels Cholam (full and lacking) Zeire and Segol.
Ariot 3:
The letters Kaf to Ayin and the vowels Kubutz and Shuruk.
Ariot 4:
The letters Pe to Taf.
Ariot Kotev (Ariot Writes):
Reading and writing in capital letters.
In addition to teaching these skills, it repeats the vocabulary and language
structures which were taught in Ariot 1 through Ariot 4.
